Spring?
Wow! What a first day of spring! Snow, sleet, and more snow! So far the main roads are fine where I am, but tomorrow’s commute could be dicey. This seems to be the winter that never ends.
I’m in Lancaster, PA for the AQS show, which starts tomorrow. This will be my fifth year. I spent most of the day today on the road, shopping a little on the way. I’m trying to use up stash, so only bought a little fabric: an off cut of minkie (which I’ve never used before), a couple yards of a border print and enough wide backing fabric for my On Ringo Lake Mystery Quilt by Bonnie Hunter.
I like to eat at Miller’s smorgasbord at least once while I’m in the area so I did that today. Lots of variety and good quality. I had oatmeal pie for dessert. First time I’ve ever had it. It won’t be the last time.
I’m looking forward to the classes I’m taking. One on machine quilting, one on EQ8, and one on needleturn applique. It’s also great to see the quilts and wander through the vendor stalls. The level of machine quilting I’ve seen in the last year has been amazing. I’m looking forward to checking that out here. And the colors, the patterns, the creativity!! The new templates! The new stencils! The latest gadgets!
And, hopefully, it soon will feel like spring!
